Breath the ancient practice

I was gifted a book quite some time ago.

Called “Exhale” an overview of Breathwork”

By Gunnel Minett

I thought to share snippets of insights as I have been drawn to learn more about Breathwork .

Once I began reading I realized this is not a how to manual of Breathwork techniques.

But providing a high level insight of the different methods, the origins and techniques.

Which I found was fascinating as I am reading the book.

What I learned is that in today’s realm of healing modalities,

Breathwork has a huge presence and we experience it everyday without even realizing it.

Gunnel states “the Latin word for breathing and spirit have the same origin. “Spiritus “

The spiritual dimension of breathwork has been recognized for thousands of years.

To connect with our higher self , deep insights, and also the breath is an aspect of the body’s natural healing power.

It’s not News Age nonsense but based on ancient techniques from the Yogis, the Sufis, the buddhists and so many more cultures.

As never before breathwork has become so integral where you find Psychotherapists adopting In their everyday practice with their clients.

There are so many varying techniques to assist with the managing of stress, anxiety and depression.

Over the years facilitating meditation sessions

I found that incorporating simple and short exercises have a deep impact emotionally, physically and spiritually.

I always remind my students and clients that

Your intuition is the guide of your inner journey.

Of course there is no right or wrong way , you will know what is best for you.

Gunnell shares wonderful quotes and antidotes throughout the book.

It reminded me no matter the workshops and courses we participate in , the breath can be an incredible teacher.

Respecting and trusting your soul self and

paying attention to your breath!

With love and light!
