The Energy That September Brings

There is something so special with the Back to School season.
Embracing September's energy involves using the seasonal shift as a fresh reset to realign your goals, habits, and mindset for the final stretch of the year.
For me, September is a chance for a fresh start and becoming more creative.
Releasing the old energy and being open for the new.
I declutter my desk, drawers, closets and planning my calendar for the fall.
There's that catalogue that mysteriously arrives at your doorstep for Adult continuing education.
Which courses will I enroll in? How will I upgrade my skill set? Perhaps photography, watercolor, or a breathwork program?
What podcasts or workshops will I lead or participate in this fall?
Even though I'm no longer in school, the back-to-school buzz feels refreshing.
What strategies or tools do you use?
My toolkit includes a new planner from Bloom, fresh files, a new pen, cleaning out my e-mail inbox and harnessing the renewed back to school energy. It's almost like the first day of school all over again.
Remember when you were very young, you had a brand new pencil case and outfit. Nervous about your first day of school.
One strategy I adopted years ago where I incorporated a paper planner and found that my online calendar wasn't enough anymore. Where I was struggling syncing multiple electronic calendars. I haven't totally abandoned my online calendar. But I went old school, I realized not only did I needed the agenda but also I needed to move beyond the calendar year. My annual planning does not have to go from January to December. The energy has shifted it just doesn't make sense anymore. Creating new strategies that flow with a seasonal and astronomical rhythms in my planning. Staying away from the noise of Christmas and New Years.
Writing pen to paper, adding colorful markers and motivational stickers to help map out each day, meal prep, self-care, and practical plans. My planner becomes part of my personal and professional journey.
Are you adopting new strategies for the new school year?
What does that look like for you?
Take the opportunity to adopt new strategies and habits as September is here!
