I have been reading this wonderful book by Debbie Ford.
It’s one of those books that has been siting on my book shelf for years
Why now? I guess it was time.
As this is not a light read but a process.
Each chapter has an exercise to anchor what has been taught.
I always claimed to be my whole self and my authentic self.
After reading this book I realized there is a whole dimension for me to embrace and understand of my real self. But also coming to a whole understanding that my shadow self is not to be eliminated or burying it, my light is hiding under my bad behaviour.
Debbie teaches us that our job is to take your human self and transform him/her into the most extraordinary self we can be.
The common thread through your the whole book is that each of us is a microcosm that reflects and contains the macrocosm.
She quotes a philosopher “We are not in the world, but the world is within us. “
“Each of us possess every existing human quality. There is nothing we can conceive that we are not, and the purpose of our journey is to restore ourselves to this wholeness . “
The premise was mind blowing for me!
The whole book is about taking down the walls that we have constructed and looking at who we really are!
“By God, when you see your beauty, you’ll be the idol of yourself. “
Rumi
My suggestion is to read it once, twice and maybe three times!
