Changing your Perspective

I received this wonderful note in my inbox sometime ago from my Mindfulness Teacher. I thought to share it with you.

There’s a quote that from Wayne Dyer that she comes back to often:

“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Meditation and Mindfulness doesn’t always change what’s happening around us. What it changes is how we experience it.

You may notice this in your own life lately.

Responding instead of reacting.

Maybe feeling a little more patient

Letting small things go more easily. Not everything should be a battle.

Pausing before speaking.

These are quiet signs that your mindfulness practice is working, even if nothing on the outside looks dramatically different.

Mindful Practice: Noticing the Shift

Pause for a moment.

Take a slow inhale through your nose…and a gentle exhale out.

Now ask yourself:

What feels slightly easier in my life than it did a few weeks ago?

Don’t overthink it.

Trust the first thing that comes to mind.

That shift is the quote in action.

Reflection

What am I seeing differently lately even in small ways?

Bringing This Into Real Life

Sometimes we expect mindfulness to flip a switch to make stress disappear or to suddenly feel peaceful all the time. But often, the real change is quieter.

Think of something that used to bother you traffic, a messy kitchen, a tough conversation and notice if it feels even slightly different now.

That’s the shift Wayne Dyer was talking about. That’s mindfulness working in real life.

Trust that wherever you are on your path right now is exactly where you’re meant to be. The work you’re doing seen and unseen is unfolding in its own perfect way.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!

Take care my lovelies.
